HUGE REPUBLICAN WIN: Oklahoma teachers can now BE ARRESTED for teaching certain CRT topics

The Oklahoma State Board of Education has approved a new policy threatening teaching licenses if educators cover certain race concepts.

Within the policy, eight race concepts are prohibited from teaching, parents are permitted to review the curriculum, and if an educator fails to follow the policies their teaching license may be suspended. One of the concepts is the notion that because of one’s race or sex, certain people can be inherently racist or sexist, potentially subconsciously.

The emergency rules are in compliance with House Bill 1775, which also bans the teaching of critical race theory (CRT). Regarding the legislation, Representative Kevin West said, “We wanted to have a way for the parents to bring this to the attention (of a school board), but we also don’t want a parent who has it in for a specific teacher to be able to railroad that teacher because our teachers have done a fantastic job and we wanted to have some protections in there for them as well.”

All but one member of the Oklahoma State Board of Education supported the policy. Carlisha Bradley, who voted against the policy, said, “With these rules, we are robbing students of having a high-quality education.”

The policy mirrors an ongoing trend of anti-CRT bills and demonstrations by students and teachers.

A recent report shows school board recalls have more than doubled as parents protest the teaching of CRT. In contrast, teacher unions have pledged to “fight back against critical race theory critics” and adopt a race-based curriculum.
