“How Does The Rest Of The World Look At Us?”; House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Wants Biden Investigated Over Handling Of Afghanistan Issue

Many have noticed the almost comical incompetence of President Biden, in not just his handling of the migrant crisis, the eviction moratorium, or the COVID mandates, but his latest performance regarding Afghanistan.

Former President Trump recently released a statement calling on Biden to “resign in disgrace“, saying that,“It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen in Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy. It shouldn’t be a big deal, because he wasn’t elected legitimately in the first place!“

Now, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy wants to give his two cents which may be worth quite a bit more than that as McCarthy wants an investigation.

As ConservativeBrief.com reports, McCarthy is now calling for investigations into Biden’s handling of the crisis and made his remarks late Sunday as Taliban forces moved to overrun Afghanistan’s capital city of Kabul. Making his remarks on Punchbowl News, McCarthy called Biden’s decision to remove the totality of US troops from Afghanistan “a mistake that will haunt us for decades,” highlighting the president’s choice to select September 11 as the target date for total withdrawal from the country. McCarthy pointed out that it was also a mistake to withdraw US forces “during the Summer, when [the Taliban is] at their height.” The Hill reports that the Republican has indicated that he will be moving forward with investigations to probe the failures of the Biden administration and both US and allied intelligence that led to the debacle. He wants to know what the intelligence community knew in the weeks and months ahead of Afghanistan’s collapse. 

The Hill goes on to report that, “The top House Republican indicated he wants investigations probing what the American and allied intelligence community knew in the weeks and months leading up to the fall of the Afghan government. Several other leading Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and former President Trump, have blasted Biden’s policy decisions. As the situation in Afghanistan worsened by the hour over the weekend, Biden announced that the U.S. would send 1,000 more troops to the country to assist with evacuating U.S. personnel, some of whom have reportedly been trapped as Taliban fighters take control of the city of Kabul. “
