Gov. Desantis Announces HUGE Bonus For Law Enforcement In Florida

On Wednesday, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Twitter that the state of Florida is rewarding first responders and teachers with a one-time $1000 bonus.

“While other states are defunding the police, we are funding law enforcement in Florida – and today we are giving $1,000 bonuses to show Florida stands with law enforcement.” The governor said

As a part of this initiative, more than 49,000 police officers in Florida will be receiving a $1000 bonus as a token of appreciation from the state.

“More than 49,000 sworn law enforcement officers across the state of Florida will be receiving a $1,000 bonus, including the great men and women of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, for the hard work and dedication they’ve displayed in their communities.”

Apart from law enforcement, this program also rewards Florida state educators with the same $1000 one time bonus

This isn’t the first time law enforcement is getting bonuses in the state of Florida under Gov. Desantis’ leadership.

Back in March this year, the Governor had announced similar bonuses for approximately 174,000 first responders, including law enforcement officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and firefighters across the state.

The first responders involved with the Surfside condo collapse rescue team were the first in the state to get the checks.
