Democrats Are Very Close From Barring Republicans From Office, Cawthorn May Be Off His Ballot For 2022

Democratic efforts to prevent Republican North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn from campaigning for re-election are “extremely close” to succeeding, according to Cawthorn. According to MSN, the official went on Fox News on Monday and spoke with presenter Tucker Carlson about what he stated they were doing.
The Free Speech for People organization highlighted Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which specifies that anybody who “acted in insurrection or revolt” after taking a Congressional oath should be barred from competing in their race again. Cawthorn’s comments during the January 6 rally in Washington D.C., according to the organization, amounted to inciting an insurgency.

“I’m sure you were as perplexed as I was after January 6, when they started calling us insurrectionists, seditionists, and traitors. “I assumed they were just attempting to generate a catchy title,” Carlson’s spokesman explained.
“What is going on here is that they are very near to being able to subvert the will of over 700,000 Americans,” he stated, referring to the approximate population of each particular congressional district.
“And make no mistake, Tucker: This isn’t simply about a 26-year-old man in a wheelchair from western North Carolina. This is about the destiny of our entire country.” he said.

If they can establish this precedent in North Carolina, they will be able to prevent anyone who had real and serious concerns about what happened in the 2020 election from ever holding office,” he added.
“I think your analysis is so smart. You’re exactly right,” he said.
“That’s why they called the rioters ‘insurrectionists.’ And so many conservative officeholders and news organizations have ignored it. They’re so embarrassed.
They don’t see what this is really about, which is ending democracy.” Earlier this month the representative laid into President Joe Biden during a House floor speech on Wednesday, slamming him as an “idiot” and “geriatric despot” who deserves the middle finger.
The Republican lawmaker was especially exercised over Biden’s ordering 3,000 U.S. troops to stage in Europe amid rising tension between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Russia and NATO.
