BREAKING: Two PATRIOTS charged in planned scheme to attack democratic headquarters in Sacramento

Federal authorities arrested two men in California for allegedly attempting to start a movement to overthrow the government and attacking the Democratic headquarters in Sacramento.

CNN reports that five days before the presidential inauguration on January 20th, the Justice Department apprehended Ian Benjamin Rogers, 45, who had accumulated a large arsenal. Rogers, of Napa, had shown strong support for former President Donald Trump. Additionally, he has made it clear that he has support for white supremacy. Rogers was known to communicate with 37-year-old Jarrod Copeland of Vallejo, California who was also taken into custody.

Suspicion arose from the extensive encrypted messages between to two. In January, Rogers said to Copeland, “I want to blow up a democrat building bad.” To which Copeland responded, “Plan attack.” After President Joe Biden’s inauguration, the pair talked about starting a war and that Rogers would become violent where he lived, prompting similar actions across the country.

Rogers additionally faces weapons charges after investigators found 49 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition and five pipe bombs at his home and business in January. The two men are in custody and have not yet been arraigned. Thursday, federal prosecutors announced the two men should remain a threat, stating, “all of the political and social conditions that motivated them to plan what they themselves described as a terrorist attack remain.”
