In the aftermath of a cascade of various calls on President Biden to (one way or another) leave office, whether it was for his handling, or lack thereof, of the crisis at the border, the eviction moratorium, or his Orwellian response to the COVID issue, there is now yet another by which impeachment or resignation may be realized… and former President Trump agrees.
In response to Biden’s cowardly and groveling response to the Taliban seizing the U.S. embassy, Trump issued a scathing statement saying the following: “It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen in Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy. It shouldn’t be a big deal, because he wasn’t elected legitimately in the first place!“.

So, Mr. 45 himself takes his place as the latest, and most visible, voice for Biden’s ousting. Among the lineup also included Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jeff Van Drew, and many others.
As Newsweek reports, On Sunday, the Afghan military and government fell to the Taliban as insurgent forces entered the capital Kabul after seizing power across the country in just over a week. The capital was the last major government stronghold. As the Taliban insurgents entered the city, U.S. personnel and Afghan citizens descended on the airport to leave the nation. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled to Tajikistan on Sunday.
The New York Post expands on this, “The Taliban have rapidly taken control of most of the country as insurgent forces enter the capital city of Kabul, where US troops have been sent to evacuate the embassy. Mobs of panicked people can be seen at the Kabul airport frantically trying to flee the city on Sunday. Trump’s administration had negotiated the terms of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan by May 1. Trump even considered withdrawing troops from the region before leaving office.”
The bull’s eye of a Biden impeachment seems a slightly elusive target, with many proverbial arrows being slung at it, perhaps this foreign policy gaffe (to pull a boring euphemism), will be the one that hits the mark.
