BREAKING: One Officer Charged in Breonna Taylor Case, Not Related to Her Death

A Grand Jury on Wednesday indicted one police officer in connection with the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor in March, but no officers were charged for their role in her death. The Kentucky AG, Daniel Cameron, determined that the officers involved used justified force.

The Grand Jury in Louisville, Kentucy, indicted former Metro Police Department Officer Brett Hankison with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment for firing shots that went into an apartment neighboring Taylor’s. The other two officers involved in the shooting were not charged at all. Overall, there were no charges directly related to the death of Breonna Taylor.

Taylor was an emergency room technician who died on March 13. Kenneth Walker, Taylor’s Boyfriend, fired shots at the officers when they served a ‘no-knock’ warrant. Officers returned fire and Taylor was shot 6 times.
