Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) has just officially endorsed Donald Trump for president on Friday.

He described former President Trump as “the architect of our American First movement.” He also said that Trump is “exactly the president we need.”

He wrote in a statement:

I’m proud to endorse the strongest president of my lifetime, Donald J. Trump, for a second term in 2024.

President Trump is the architect of our America First movement. He is a proven champion of our conservative values, and a fearless leader on the world stage.

In just four years, President Trump delivered great results for the American people. He lowered taxes, secured American energy independence, protected our Second Amendment, and never backed down from the radical Left threatening our way of life.

President Trump is exactly the president we need to lead this country through the tough road ahead. Not only am I proud to endorse President Trump, I’m proud to call him my friend.

Mullin is a freshman senator in the 118th Congress, and he was overwhelmingly elected in a special senatorial election in 2022.

He is the first Native American to serve in the Senate since Ben Campbell (R-CO) in 2005.

His campaign website says that “Markwayne left college to fight to save his family’s plumbing business. In Congress, he fought the liberals trying to stop President Trump. He is a tried-and-true conservative leader who will NEVER BACK DOWN to the D.C. liberal elites.”

Mullin is the fifth U.S. Senator to endorse Donald Trump for a presidential run in 2024. Mullin joins Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and J.D. Vance (R-OH).

Senator Vance endorsed Trump in an article written in the Wall Street Journal. Vance said that Trump “started no wars despite enormous pressure from his own party…He has my support in 2024 because I know he won’t recklessly send Americans to fight overseas.”

Senator Schmitt said in an interview with Politico that Trump is “very popular in Missouri. He’s been somebody that’s gotten the support of Missourians by big margins a couple times. He has my support.”

All of these endorsements come during many polls showing Trump having a massive lead over any other potential Republican competitor.

According to an Emerson College poll, shows Trump leads Biden 44% to 39% in a head-to-head matchup. The same survey showed that US voters mostly disapprove of Biden’s job as president, with 53% disapproving.

The DC Enquirer reported:

One such poll conducted with 2,228 Americans from January 19-23, found that Trump is leading his opponents by a mammoth 35 percentage points with 59 percent of those polls supporting the 45th president for election to a second, non-consecutive term.

The polls also show that Trump leads in the popular vote against Biden in a 2024 rematch.

Republican presidential candidates have failed to get the popular vote over Democrat competitors since 2004.

People are speculating a run by Ron DeSantis, as well, but he has not officially announced if he will run or not in 2024.
