Breaking News: Riley Gaines Blasts President Joe Biden After He Vows To Veto Legislation That Protects Women’s Sports
The former All-American renowned swimmer who represented the University of Kentucky, Riley Gaines, President Joe Biden and slammed him in response to Biden’s promise to overrule a legislation which would protect women’s sports by prohibiting the participation of biological males.
On Monday, shortly after Biden’s White House issued a statement, criticizing “H.R. 734” or “the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” Gaines told Fox News Digital that Biden’s promise to veto the bill clearly shows that he prefers a “radical minority” over the women across America.
Gaines argues:
“The President has declared that science, truth, and common sense no longer matter. In opposing this bill, President Biden is catering to a radical minority at the expense of women, who are 51% of the population.”
She added:
“Equal opportunity, privacy, and safety in our sports shouldn’t be controversial. The women who once advocated for Title IX should be outraged as this goes against everything they fought for. Female athletes of all ages, levels, and sports deserve better.”
Congress has yet to pass the bill, however, it is expected that the House of Representatives will vote on it this week.
The White House revealed in a statement that it “strongly opposes” the legislation as the administration believes it will “deny access to sports for many families by establishing an absolute ban on transgender students.”
Furthermore, the White House claimed that the bill is “discriminatory,” as this regulation is “unnecessary,” and it would eventually “hurt families and students.”
The legislation H.R. 734 asserts that an athlete’s gender will only be recognized through their “reproductive biology and genetics at birth.”
