BREAKING: Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Select Committee is being scolded by Rudy Giuliani for keeping his testimony from the American people

Rudy Giuliani and several Trump loyalists were subpoenaed by a House committee on January 6. The House Select Committee on the 6th of January assassination of U.S. Former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and three others who questioned the 2020 election results received subpoenas from the Capitol on Tuesday. The committee is also seeking papers and testimony from Jenna Ellis and Sidney Powell, two lawyers who tried to promote Trump’s bogus election claims, as well as Boris Epshteyn, a former Trump White House official.
The panel’s chairman, Bennie Thompson, said in a statement that “the four individuals we’ve subpoenaed today advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn the election results, or were in direct contact with the former President about attempts to stop the counting of electoral votes.” All four witnesses were given deadlines of January 1 and February 8 to turn in papers and present for depositions. The four characters spoke in a news conference on November 19, 2020, in which they claimed the election had been rigged and Trump had won in a “landslide.”

However, the latest round of subpoenas demonstrates how the committee – which has interviewed almost 400 people – is closing upon the former president’s closest circle. The panel has subpoenaed and gotten data on phone numbers related to one of Trump’s sons, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.’s fiance, Kimberly Guilfoyle, according to CNN sources. Tuesday night, Donald Trump tweeted, “The witch-hunt goes on. This political committee is free to go through my phone records; I have nothing to conceal.”
Giuliani was one of the most outspoken supporters of Trump’s phony accusations of electoral fraud in the weeks after the November election, visiting with state lawmakers to encourage them to disregard the 2020 election results.
The committee also thinks, based on witness evidence, that Giuliani encouraged Trump in December 2020 to authorize the seizure of voting equipment across the country, despite being warned the Department of Homeland Security lacked such power, according to a letter written to Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani’s legal license in New York and Washington, D.C. has been suspended since the 2020 election.

Powell’s lawyer, Howard Kleinhendler, issued a statement on her behalf, saying she “looks forward to appearing before the Committee to answer questions, walk through the evidence, and present a full picture of the fraud and other misconduct that occurred during the 2020 Election, including the myriad of election fraud allegations that are only now being investigated by state officials in Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere.”
The committee is interested in Epshteyn in part because of reports that he attended meetings at the Willard Hotel in Washington in the days leading up to January 6, where Giuliani and other Trump allies met and coordinated as part of the effort to prevent President Biden’s victory from being certified. In a letter to Epshteyn, Thompson also included a rumor that Epshteyn spoke with Trump on January 6th. Epshteyn dubbed the “January 6th Unselect Committee” subpoena “no surprise whatsoever” in a message on Twitter on Tuesday.
He went on to say that he is “glad to share” evidence of “massive fraud that pervaded the 2020 election in Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and beyond,” which is false. Last week, Thompson said the committee had issued around 85 subpoenas, including to Trump’s associates, former White House officials, campaign advisers, and anyone engaged in the preparation of the demonstration outside the White House before the Capitol was besieged.
Bannon and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows have both been held in contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with subpoenas, and Bannon has been prosecuted by the Justice Department. Both have stated that they are acting on orders from Trump, who has invoked executive privilege.
Thousands of Trump supporters arrived at the Capitol on January 6 as Congress tallied the electoral votes, a mainly ceremonial last step validating Mr. Biden’s victory, according to a House select committee established by Speaker Nancy Pelosi last year. During the violence, lawmakers were forced to leave, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and the detention of hundreds more. Trump, who encouraged supporters to “go over” to the Capitol during the Stop the Steal event, was impeached by the House for inciting the violence a week later, but the Senate later acquitted him.
“Raging Patriot”, my ass.
