Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic House Speaker and a California Representative, is retaliating after a new book alleges she blamed progressive members of her caucus for the House’s losses in the 2020 election.

According to Punchbowl News, the book “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future,” written by New York Times writers Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, underscores the Speaker’s displeasure with progressives.

Speaker Pelosi was quoted in the book as saying that Reps. Pramila Jayapal, the chairwoman of the House Progressive Caucus, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were fighting to be the “queen bee” of the progressives.

“She pointed a finger leftward in a few highly secret talks,” the book says. “Democrats have alienated Asian and Hispanic immigrants with vague talk of socialism,” Pelosi told one senior legislator.

Democrats had not been careful enough in some of the same neighborhoods, according to the Italian Catholic speaker, regarding how they spoke about abortion among new Americans who were devoted people of religion.”

“She told another House Democrat that Pramila Jayapal and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were fighting to be the left’s ‘queen bee,’ but that their prize may be serving in the House minority after the next election,” she added.

According to Business Insider, In the fall of 2021, congressional Democrats attempted to pass both parts of President Joe Biden’s economic agenda in a bipartisan infrastructure bill focused on roads, bridges, green energy, and transportation, as well as a much more expensive economic spending package known as the Build Back Better agenda, which Senate Democrats would pass along party lines.

However, progressives refused to support the infrastructure package in protest of what they saw as centrists’ lack of commitment to Build Back Better, making it difficult to approve both initiatives at the same time. Pelosi, who is notorious for only bringing matters to the floor when she is certain she can carry them, had to postpone two planned votes on the infrastructure bill, which were scheduled for September 30 and October 29.

According to Fox News, the Speaker retaliated against the “gossip” in the new book. “Under the Speaker’s leadership, House Democrats have achieved historic progress for the American people and are united by the shared goal of meeting the needs of hardworking families,” said Drew Hammill, her spokesperson.

“Many books will be published on the difficulty of legislating during the epidemic and an unprecedented time of Republican resistance, and we will not be commenting on works that substitute gossip for reality,” he stated. This comes after a poll of senior House workers by Punchbowl News indicated that 60% thought the California Democrat would resign after the November elections.

“The survey also included members of the general House staff.” Pelosi is expected to resign, according to 54 percent of House workers. According to Breitbart, “Congressional staffers help members of Congress and committees, answer constituent mail, draft questions for committee hearings, execute communication tasks, and strategize legislative moves.”

“The fact that more senior workers predict Pelosi will resign is likely due to their greater experience, and hence carries more weight.” Pelosi will not announce her retirement in the middle of a congressional session, according to senior officials. They do recognize, however, that Pelosi has already stated that this will be her final term as speaker,” the site continued.

Tom Emmer, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, is sure that Republicans will retake the House of Representatives. During an interview with Breitbart, Emmer stated that Republicans will finally fire House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“They should share their treasure by supporting them financially, they should share their talents by volunteering in a campaign,” Emmer said. “Because look, the world is run by those who show up and those who show up and do the work, they own our freedom, and there’s never been a time like right now, Matt, to get involved and take a position.”

“If you sit back and be quiet, you’re not going to like what these socialist Democrats are going to do to our country, because this is no longer a choice between a degree of freedom — the right to self-determination versus the size and scope of government — this is a choice between two fundamentally different views of the United States of America.”

On the one hand, socialists want to make all of your decisions for you. On the other hand, we continue to believe in free markets and people’s freedom to pursue their American dream through hard work and adherence to the rules,” he added.
