The Minority Leader of the House, Kevin McCarthy, has just dropped an atom bomb. In fact, he just put Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell , among others, on notice today on Fox News promising to follow through on his vow to remove them from their congressional committees when Republicans retake control in the new Congress. He has also promised similar reprisals against Representative Ilhan Omar.

In fact, it has just recently been reported by that The New York Post that:

The top Republican in the House of Representatives has vowed to keep several Democratic lawmakers off of congressional committees if he is elevated to speaker by his caucus.

Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” the bans would apply to Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA).

“One thing I said from the very beginning, Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector,” McCarthy, 57, told host Maria Bartiromo, referencing the Bay Area representative’s alleged relationship with a Chinese spy.

“Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? So I will not allow him to be on Intel,” he said, a year after the GOP leader called on Democrats to remove Swalwell from the powerful House Intelligence Committee.

The congressman then took aim at Schiff, saying the Jan. 6 select House committee member “had lied to the American public time and again.”

“We will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee either,” McCarthy said.

The New York Post went on to report that:

McCarthy also said he would follow through on promises to remove pro-Palestine progressive firebrand Omar from her leadership position.

“And you — look, Congresswoman Omar, her anti-Semitic comments that have gone forward. We’re not going to allow her to be on Foreign Affairs,” he said.

The comments followed the Republicans narrowly regaining the majority in the lower chamber during the midterm elections.

McCarthy is widely expected to be elected to replace retiring 82-year-old House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

It was Newsweek that went on to report that:

McCarthy tweeted on Saturday: “Last year, I promised that when I became Speaker, I would remove Rep. Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee based on her repeated anti-Semitic and anti-American remarks. I’m keeping that promise.”

House Republicans recently voted 188-31 by secret ballot to nominate McCarthy for House speaker as the GOP narrowly took control of the House in this year’s midterm elections.

Newsweek went on to report that:

Twitter added a text box of additional context under McCarthy’s Saturday tweet, noting that the “Speaker does not have the power to remove a member from a standing committee. Foreign Affairs is a standing committee” and that a majority vote by the entire House is needed to do so.

“The Speaker may remove Members, Delegates, or the Resident Commissioner from, or appoint additional Members, Delegates, or the Resident Commissioner to, a select or conference committee,” the Committee on House Administration wrote on its website.

Daniel Schuman, policy director at Demand Progress, told Newsweek on Sunday that with House Republicans having the majority, they will dominate the Rules Committee and “can control what measures are considered on the floor and stop measures they don’t like.”

McCarthy has been a thorn in the sides of Democrats for some time. In fact, The Raging Patriot reported earlier this month that he had broken his silence and is speaking out. He is laying out his argument for the impeachment of President Joe Biden. It was during an appearance on CNN that McCarthy put all of his cards on the proverbial table.

It has just been reported by Mediaite that: House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) hedged when asked if he would spearhead his fellow Republicans in impeaching President Joe Biden if the GOP sweeps the midterm elections.

McCarthy spoke with CNN’s Melanie Zanona as he outlined the various tenets of the Republican Party’s “Commitment to America” platform if they take back control of the House. At one point in the interview, McCarthy was asked if his pledge for investigations meant that impeachment is “on the table.”

McCarthy answered by deflecting to the need for greater accountability on the origins of Covid, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and other subjects.
