Rep. Jim Jordan, the Republican from Ohio wants answers.

He penned letters this week to former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

He’s looking for answers about a statement they signed along with 49 other intelligence officials in October of 2020 calling the New York Post’s story about the Hunter Biden laptop Russian disinformation.

Jordan is asking for voluntary cooperation from Clapper and Brennan as the letter they signed “served as a basis for partisan operatives to attempt to delegitimize allegations, as reported in The Post,” that Hunter Biden used his father’s position as Vice President for personal financial gain.

The letter also gave Twitter a reason to suppress the story and label it as Russian disinformation. Two years later, Americans are finally learning that the story was accurate and not produced by Russian agents.

The Ohio representative is also interested in getting information from former executive director for the Department of Homeland Security’s Disinformation Governance Board, Nina Jankowicz about her role as what some called the Minister of Truth.

First Name

Jankowicz no longer works for the federal government and recently registered as a foreign agent for a non-profit group in the UK.

Jordan asked Jankowicz to contact his office immediately to set up an interview.

Now that the Republicans are taking control of the House, Jordan is wasting no time.

The lawmaker wants to get to the bottom of the FBI’s alleged targeting of whistleblowers and conservative federal employees. He is seeking answers from the Executive Assistant Director of the FBI’s Human Resource Branch, Jennifer Moore.

Jordan said he’s heard protected whistleblowers “suggest that the FBI is engaging in a ‘purge’ of employees with conservative views by revoking their security clearances and indefinitely suspending these employees” and that Moore has “signed many of the formal notices for these adverse personnel actions.”

In his letter to Moore, Jordan said, “We have also received information suggesting you have retaliated against at least one whistleblower who has made protected disclosures to Congress.”

Jordan said he will get the information by subpoena if necessary.

The FBI’s assistant director of its Office of Congressional Affairs, Jill Tyson, wrote a response to Jordan denying his accusation that conservative employees are being targeted.

Tyson wrote:

“The FBI has strong procedures in place to promote accountability when an FBI employee strays from their obligations — including employee actions that create the appearance of political, social, or other bias.

“The FBI takes all allegations of misconduct very seriously, and that includes taking seriously our responsibility to FBI employees who make protected disclosures under the whistleblower regulations.

“It is important to emphasize that allegations against one or a very small number of employees do not reflect a widespread political bias or a lack of objectivity by the FBI’s 38,000 employees who perform their jobs objectively, rigorously, and with professionalism.

“Nor do such allegations fairly call into question the FBI’s motivations and actions to fulfill its mission, which reflect the collective judgment and effort of our workforce,” Tyson wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens if and when these people answer questions under oath.
