BREAKING: Elon Musk, The Founder Of Tesla, Has Called For An Increase In Oil And Gas Production In America

Elon Musk, the billionaire creator of Tesla, the world’s leading electric car manufacturer, has urged the Biden administration to increase domestic oil production in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine, in order to assist the country wean itself from Moscow’s supplies.

“Hate to tell it, but we urgently need to expand oil and gas output,” Musk tweeted on Friday. “Extraordinary circumstances necessitate extraordinary methods.”

“Obviously, this would have a severe impact on Tesla, but sustainable energy alternatives simply cannot respond instantly to compensate for Russian oil and gas exports,” Musk, who also established SpaceX and the Starlink satellite-based Internet service, noted.

Musk’s push to raise domestic oil production comes in the midst of substantial price increases caused, in part, by President Joe Biden’s reversal of previous President Donald Trump’s home-focused energy production plans and increasing reliance on risky foreign supplies such as Russian oil.

Earlier this week, Musk made headlines for responding to a request from a Ukrainian government official to give Starlink services to Ukraine when Russian soldiers invaded and cut off other kinds of Internet connection. A few days later, he warned Ukrainians not to use the systems.

“Important warning: Starlink is the only non-Russian communications system still operational in some areas of Ukraine, thus the likelihood of being attacked is high,” he wrote in a tweet. “Use at your own risk.”

“Turn on Starlink only when necessary and situate antenna as far away from people as feasible,” he added, adding, “Place light camouflage over antenna to avoid visual detection.”

This week, gas prices in certain areas, including California, surpassed $5 per gallon. “Gas prices in California shattered state records, averaging $5.07 per gallon, while areas like Syracuse, New York, are seeing the highest costs in ten years, and Michigan is seeing the price climb 39 cents in only one week,” according to The Daily Wire.

“According to a Triple-A survey, the states with the highest gas prices right now are…” As is customary, California was at the top of the list, with the highest recorded cost of $5.07 a gallon, according to ABC 30.

Republicans have also pressured Biden to increase domestic manufacturing. “Gas costs are skyrocketing with no signs of abating as a result of Democrats’ failing policies,” Congressional Leadership Fund Press Secretary Cally Perkins stated in an email.
