In times of turmoil friends often turn on one another. The Democrat party seems to be doing just that. Representative Adam Schiff of Pennsylvania criticized the President for his recent trip to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Schiff tweeted out, “If we ever needed a visual reminder of the continuing grip oil-rich autocrats have on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, we got it today. One fist bump is worth a thousand words”.
A faction of the Democrat party did not want the President to meet with the Crown Prince, called MBS, because of allegations he was involved with the death of Washington Post report Jamal Kashoggi. The President had to meet with MBS to seek help with the growing energy crisis in America.
Washington Post editor Fred Ryan said, “The fist bump between President Biden and Mohammed bin Salman was worse than a handshake – it was shameful. “It projected a level of intimacy and comfort that delivers to MBS the unwarranted redemption he has been desperately seeking.”
The backlash against Biden has been intense. So much so, that the President tried to deflect criticism by revealing discussions during the meeting with MBS.
According to Newsweek.com, Biden raised Khashoggi’s killing during his meeting with the crown prince. “I raised it at the top of the meeting, making it clear what I thought of it at the time and what I think of it now,” he said.
The Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs Adel Al-Jubeir told reporters that he did not hear Biden place blame for the killing on MBS during the meeting, according to The New York Times.
Schiff is not the only Democrat that appears to be turning on Biden. A recent poll indicated most in the Democrat party do not want the President to run again in 2024. 64% of Democrat voters do not want Biden to be the nominee in the next election.
Biden, when asked about the poll earlier in the week, claimed it was not accurate. Biden said, “Read the poll. Read the polls, Jack. You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me.”
He misrepresented the poll. The base of the Democrat party does not want him to be the candidate but if he were, then 92% would vote for him. According to reports, the exchange with the reporter and the President’s missteps in the Middle East have led to calls to invoke the 25th Amendment.
Sean Hannity, the popular Fox News personality, has led calls over the last week to consider invoking the 25th Amendment.
The Republicans have been saying for a long time that the President’s ability to perform the job should be re-examined. Since the President took office, the media and the Democrat Party have claimed it is just partisan politics. However, President Biden and his blunders are making it more and more difficult.
