BREAKING: Attorney General Garland Assigns ‘The Biden Documents Leak’ Investigation To Special Counsel

Unlike Mar-a-Lago, the raid on the White House never took place following the mishandling of confidential documents by President Joe Biden. However, the authorities did end up with discovery of 2 unofficial stockpiles of classified documents from different locations linked with Biden.
Biden might have to go through a severe investigation under the special counsel assigned by Attorney General Merrick Garland, on Thursday.
Garland has assigned previous Department of Justice official Robert Kyoung Hur to inquire about Biden for his indecorous act of hiding and holding confidential documents.
The first volume of the confidential files, which Biden kept secret since his term as vice president under the Obama administration, was extracted from his office in Washington D.C. Later on, the 2nd volume was also extracted from his residence in Wilmington, Delaware.
CNN reported that several documents were labeled as confidential.
Biden informed the reporters that he kept a part of secret documents in his garage, next to his Corvette.
Hur, a GOP member, was also the 48th U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland from 2018 to 2021. He was hand-picked by the previous President Donald Trump for this position.
Before that, Hur was assigned as the principal associate deputy attorney general with the U.S. Department of Justice, collaborating with the Director of the FBI, Christopher Wray.
“In 2003, [Hur] joined the department’s criminal division, where he worked on counterterrorism, corporate fraud and appellate matters. From 2007 until 2014, Mr. Hur served as an assistant US attorney for the district of Maryland, where he prosecuted matters ranging from violent crime to financial fraud,” Garland stated.
Axios News implied that Hur’s nomination was considered to “avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest”, as Garland stated that it was in the “public interest”.
Garland might want to shun the emergence of any irregularity, given that back in November, he appointed Jack Smith special counsel for the criminal investigation to verify if former President Donald Trump, who was fully authorized to declassify the confidential data, has misused the confidential data.
In his public statement, Garland presented a layout for the inspection of Biden’s misconduct with the confidential documents up till now:
- Nov. 4 — The National Archives Office of Inspector General contacted a DOJ prosecutor, informing him that the White House had notified the Archives that classified documents were found in Biden’s Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement office. The office was not authorized to store classified documents.
- Nov. 9 — The FBI began assessing whether the mishandling of the classified information violated federal law.
- Nov. 14 — Garland assigned U.S. Attorney John Lausch Jr. to conduct a preliminary investigation to determine whether the attorney general should appoint a special counsel.
- Dec. 20 — Biden’s counsel told Lausch that additional classified Obama-era documents were identified in the president’s Delaware home.
- Jan. 5 — Lausch briefed Garland, making it clear that a special counsel was required.
Garland disclosed the special counsel on Thursday, just a few hours after the news about the 2nd batch of confidential documents started spreading.
“This appointment underscores for the public the department’s commitment to independence and accountability, and particularly sensitive matters and to making decisions indisputably guided only by the facts and the law,” said Garland.
Garland added that Hur will be given “all the resources he needs.”
Hur recommended that he will “conduct the assigned investigation with fair, impartial, and dispassionate judgment.”
“I intend to follow the facts swiftly and thoroughly, without fear or favor, and will honor the trust placed in me to perform this service,” he added.”
Biden’s counsel showed their concerns by stating that the White House will assist the DOJ.
Attorney General Merric Garland made a great decision to appoint Robert Kyoung Hur, a veteran and former Department of Justice official. Now Hur is responsible for thoroughly inquiring Biden about the classified documents so he can end this as soon as possible, as these documents might disclose massive corruption by the Democratic leaders.
