BOMBSHELL: Months After Being Caught Up In Another Scandal, A Democrat Legislator Gets Arrested

Gerald Brady, a Democrat from Maryland, has been imprisoned for theft. According to Delaware Online/The News Journal, the arrest comes six months after he was embarrassed for delivering a racial remark in an email. According to court documents obtained by Delaware Online/The News Journal, Wilmington state Rep. Gerald Brady is accused of stealing nine bundles of firewood from an Acme store in Newark. Brady, a Democrat, stole a shopping cart full of merchandise from Acme on Suburban Drive in Newark on December 29, according to police and criminal documents. According to the charges, he attempted to remove other items on Jan. 12 but was stopped by a store worker.

He made no direct mention of the allegations in his departure statement. House Speaker Pete Schwartzkopf addressed some of the congressman’s accomplishments over his 16 years in Congress. ” According to a press release issued by Newark police on Tuesday, they received a report of a shoplifting incident at an Acme grocery store shortly after 5 p.m. on Jan. 12. The Associated Press reports that “an employee alerted officers that he saw a person enter the business and knew him from a Dec. 29 theft incident that had not been reported to police.”

“In the second occasion,” police say, “the employee was able to identify the suspect’s automobile and collect the license plate number, then observed him take a shopping cart full with merchandise through the registers and toward the exit.” When the clerk approached him, he refused to pay for the item, fled the store, and got into his car. The suspect’s automobile, according to authorities, had a General Assembly license plate with Brady’s initials. “After viewing a photo of Brady, the store employee confirmed that the car owner and suspect in both incidents were the same guy,” according to the statement. The representative’s attorney, Victor Battaglia Jr., said it would be “premature” to comment on his arrest.

Brady, the executive director of the Delaware AFL-CIO, used a racial insult towards Chinese women in an email. “Is the man basically saying that if we supply free (oral sex) to Uncle Pervie, a couple rapes and c***k broads will be brought in CONEX containers to the Port of Wilmington?” he inquired in an email sent from his official government email account. The legislator apologized and declared that he would not seek reelection, but he refused to quit. “There is no way I can excuse my humiliated and filthy words that insulted, degraded, and dehumanized a whole culture while trivializing a significant human rights crisis,” he said.
