Bombshell: Florida AG Is Suing The Biden Administration Over The Mishandling of Funds Related To Purchase Of Crack Pipes For Addicts

Many Americans may have forgotten the absurd crack pipe story because the outrageous stories coming out of the Biden administration are way too numerous.
The Biden administration reportedly provided grant funding for “safe smoking kits” to “reduce harm” from substance abuse.
The media deny that this meant the distribution of crack pipes to drug users. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is trying to get to the truth of the matter.
The Florida AG is suing the Biden administration for failing to provide evidence showing that the taxpayers are not on the hook for purchasing crack pipes for addicts.
According to Fox News:
In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday, Moody asked a federal court to compel the Justice Department and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to comply with outstanding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for documentation related to possible federal grant funds used to promote drug use through Safe Smoking Kits.
Some of those kits reportedly included crack pipes and other drug-related paraphernalia, even though the Biden administration has said crack pipes are not being distributed this way.
The FOIA requests were made more than a year ago. According to federal statute, the agencies were required to respond within 20 working days of receipt, and that deadline was March 10, 2022.
Moody said that the requests have been ignored and they refuse to provide any of the documentation requested by her office, prompting the lawsuit.
“If Biden is using your tax dollars to buy crack pipes for drug addicts, you have the right to know,” Moody said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Our country is in the grips of a drug overdose crisis, and the Biden administration is stonewalling our requests and keeping the public in the dark about so many misguided, reckless policies. We are taking them to court to get answers for the American people,” she said.
The $30 million federal grant to reimburse local governments and entities that provide safe smoking kits was announced in February of last year.
President Biden called it a way to advance racial equity and safer drug use for addicts under executive order 13985 titled “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.” Is he smoking crack?
At the time, the Washington Free Beacon reported that drug users could use their free kits to smoke “any illicit substance.” This included hard drugs like crack cocaine and crystal meth.
The story noted smoking kit programs in cities like San Francisco, Annapolis, Maryland, and Seattle all include smoking pipes.
The then White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Health and Human Services denied that crack pipes would be in the kits but according to the Beacon, organizations in Baltimore, Boston, New York City, Richmond, and Washington, D.C. included crack pipes in the kits they distributed.
In the lawsuit, Moody said Florida has exhausted all of its administrative means to obtain the information.
“This harm is irreparable because no monetary damages can compensate Florida for this loss. Florida will continue to be irreparably harmed unless and until Defendants are compelled to conform their conduct to the requirements of the law.”
Put this on the growing list of things hard-working American taxpayers do not want their dollars funding.
