BAD NEWS FOR LIZ CHENEY: After Broadcast of Primetime January 6 Hearings, Cheney Receives Awful News in Relation to The Wyoming Primary Race

Associated Press

Representative Liz Cheney, a co-chair for the January 6 Committee, joined the panel for the first primetime hearings on Thursday. She got horrible news directly following the broadcast.

The news was that she is behind her GOP primary opponent, Harriet Hageman, who is endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

The Daily Mail reported:

“Just 28 percent of Wyoming Republican voters say they would cast a ballot to reelect Cheney in the 2022 midterms, according to a new poll from Fabrizio, Lee and Associates survey and consulting firm.”

The report added, “The survey of 400 likely Republican primary voters in the deep red state shows that 56 percent would vote for Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman over the incumbent if the election were held today.”

The Daily Mail added:

Cheney is one of the two Republicans–along with Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger–serving on the House Select Committee probing the riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

That post on the panel created by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as well as her vote to impeach Trump, cost Cheney favor with her constituents, a censure from the Wyoming GOP and Republican National Committee (RNC), as well as her No. 3 post in the party as House Republican Conference Chairwoman.

Hageman won a straw poll released by the Wyoming Republican Party. Hageman garnered 59 votes, in first place, while Cheney only had 6 votes, in second place.

The Conservative Brief reported:

The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney has been a thorn in Trump’s side for more than a year, having criticized him while in office and then blaming him for inciting the Jan. 6 riot. She further inflamed tensions with Trump when she voted with 10 other House Republicans to impeach him and then agree to co-chair the committee assembled by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to investigate the origins of the riot.

“I think it’s a good sign. It’s not an endorsement, but these are the county activists,” Hageman said in an interview with the Star-Tribune.

Trump said last fall that Hageman “is running against warmonger and disloyal Republican” Cheney.

“Harriet is a fourth-generation daughter of Wyoming, a very successful attorney, and has the support and respect of a truly great U.S. Senator, Wyoming’s own Cynthia Lummis,” Trump added.

“Harriet Hageman adores the Great State of Wyoming, is strong on Crime and Borders, powerfully supports the Second Amendment, loves our Military and our Vets, and will fight for Election Integrity and Energy Independence (which Biden has already given up).”

“Unlike RINO Liz Cheney, Harriet is all in for America First. Harriet has my Complete and Total Endorsement in replacing the Democrats’ number one provider of sound bites. Make America Great Again,” he concluded.

Trump’s record of backed candidates winning races exceeds the candidates he backed that didn’t win races.
