Are Democrats IMPLODING As They Try To Torpedo The Infrastructure And Reconciliation Bills They Have Been Pushing So Hard?

$4.7 trillion. That is the price tag that the federal government is trying to stick to the American taxpayers. $1.2 trillion of that is for the infrastructure bill that recently cleared the Senate with the support of 19 Republicans. The remaining $3.5 trillion is for the reconciliation bill.

One bill is contingent on the other bill passing both chambers of Congress. Which is which? Well, that depends on the Democrat you are asking.

Some have said they will not pass the infrastructure bill without the reconciliation bill. Others have said the exact opposite.

Nancy Pelosi has said numerous times that they will not bring the infrastructure bill to the House floor without the much larger spending bill, going so far as to say that they will not be discussing it at all during the month of August.

Now, a group of moderate Democrats are pushing back against the progressives in their party and are threatening to dismantle the $3.5 trillion check to the progressive spending spree.

In a co-authored letter, the nine holdouts wrote:

“Some have suggested that we hold off on considering the Senate infrastructure bill for months – until the reconciliation process is completed. We disagree. With the livelihoods of hardworking American families at stake, we simply can’t afford months of unnecessary delays and risk squandering this once-in-a-century, bipartisan infrastructure package.”

The group also: “We will not consider voting for a budget resolution until the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passes the House and is signed into law.”

Are Democrats getting in their own way? How is it that they cannot pass legislation when they control the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives?

Could it be that the policies they are pushing are too progressive and socialistic in nature for even their own party?
