Amazing News – “God Is So Good”: Family Of NFL Player Who Saved Children From Drowning Breaks Silence, “Peyton Has Been Discharged From The Hospital”

Former Arkansas and NFL runningback, Peyton Hillis, has been discharged from the hospital two weeks after he saved his children from drowning on a Florida beach. He was in the ICU on a ventilator and suffered damage to his lungs and kidneys.

Hillis’ girlfriend, Angela Cole, said, “God is so good! Peyton has been discharged from the hospital. The amount of love and gratitude I have for the incredible team that took care of Peyton is indescribable. This picture does not have anywhere near the amount of people who took such great care of him.”

“To Baptist Hospital in Pensacola: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know I told you this probably 20 times a day, but you are so incredible. You all worked like a perfected machine with each and every one of you so kind, attentive, calming and caring.”

Hillis was in the hospital after a swimming accident happened off the coast of Pensacola, Florida on January 4.

His girlfriend also said, “You not only saved Peyton’s life, you made it a priority to make sure that his family and I were okay amidst your busy schedules.”

“You all were so calming, answered every question numerous times kindly… and heck, even took care of me and made sure I was okay every night: got me hot tea for my throat, made sure I was sleeping and eating, gave me a friend to confide in.”

They were a huge answer to prayer for the former NFL running back.

Escambia County emergency services said that four people, including his two kids, were struggling in the water when someone came to their rescue and helped them back to shore.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and took the two adults to the hospital. Authorities did not name anyone involved.

Greg Hillis, who said he was Hillis’ uncle, said that Peyton was hospitalized after having trouble with his kidneys and lungs after he helped in the rescue.

Hillis rose to prominence during his career at Arkansas from 2004 to 2008. He played in the NFL from 2008 to 2014, playing for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, and the New York Giants. He retired from the NFL in 2015.

Emmitt Smith came by to visit Hillis in the hospital, as well.

The Hall of Fame running back came to visit him and encourage Hillis.

“I had the opportunity to visit a recovering hero this week #PeytonHillis Praying for his healing,” the NFL’s all-time leading rusher tweeted Thursday.

The visit from Smith was such a kind gesture, and recently the football world was brought together after Damar Hamlin collapsed while playing a game in Cincinnati.

The whole community came together in solidarity for him, just as they have for Hillis after his heroic actions put him in the ICU.
