With the midterms on the horizon, we are obviously seeing more and more attention being paid to the states. As such, Georgia, in particular is piquing many people’s interests. Politico actually recently reported Georgia, along with Wisconsin, Georgia, and Pennsylvania are currently the toss-up states leading up to the midterm.

Now, there is more news coming out of Georgia as an election official just publicly demanded an apology from President Joe Biden.

It is now being reported by Fox News that:

Continued record voter turnout in Georgia following the Biden administration’s lawsuit against the state alleging racist voting practices and the president’s accusation that the system is “Jim Crow 2.0” has at least one Georgia election official looking for an apology from the administration.

“How many turnout records do we have to break before Stacey Abrams and President Biden apologize to Georgia?” Gabriel Sterling, Chief Operating Officer of the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, told Fox News Digital in a statement Friday after his office released numbers showing a continued surge in voting in the Peach State.

The state of Georgia has experienced a record early voting turnout since the first day of early voting began on Monday, Georgia’s Secretary of State Office said in a press release this week

Fox News further reported that:

The press release said that just under 400,000 voters have cast their ballots so far and Wednesday’s total number marks a 63% increase from the same time during the 2018 midterm and is just slightly lower than the three-day total of early voting from the 2020 presidential election.

“We’re on track to break records in terms of voter turnout in every category,” the office, led by Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, told Fox News Digital. “In 2018, 223,576 Georgians voted by mail for Governor.

So far this year, we’ve received 239,789 requests for absentee ballots, 238,356 have been mailed out. We’ll exceed 2018’s total for mailed-in ballots. So far we’ve been breaking the early vote record set in 2018, and we’re approaching the early vote numbers in 2020.”

The New York Post went on to report that:

Georgia voters are setting new benchmarks in early voting turnout ahead of the midterms — after Democrats led by President Biden compared the state’s newly enacted election law to segregation-era “Jim Crow” measures last year.

On Monday, the first day of early voting in the Peach State, more than 131,000 people cast ballots, breaking a Georgia record.

The showing marked an increase of 85% compared to 2018, when only 71,000 Georgians voted on the first possible day to cast ballots.

The New York Post further reported that:

As of the close of Wednesday, the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office said 434,546 early and absentee ballots had been accepted.

In a statement Thursday, the office said the early in-person turnout of 396,332 constituted a 76% increase over the 225,015 who turned out in the first three days of early voting in 2018 — and just 3.5% below the 410,809 who turned out through three days of early voting in the presidential voting year of 2020.

Stacy Abrams has been in the news a lot lately. In fact, just earlier this month, we reported that Abrams, the Democrat candidate for governor in Georgia, still cries that her election was stolen from her. She is stating that the voter integrity laws in Georgia are unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Steve C. Jones was appointed to the bench by President Obama, so one would think that Stacy Abrams would have the chips fall into her favor. U.S. District Judge Steve C. Jones, an Obama appointee, issued the ruling, after a lengthy trial, handing a major victory to Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who aggressively defended the state’s election integrity laws from a legal assault by Abrams voter group Fair Fight Inc. and other liberals.
