Republicans and Democrats are the same. They are the same dog with different fleas. The Republicans on the Hill will not fight the status quo; they want to keep it. Ask anyone who has worked on the Hill, and they will tell you that the Hill is a country club.
The Republicans do the same song and dance of making big promises they do not intend to keep. According to the website dedicated to “Commitment to America,” it promises a strong Economy, a safe nation, a better future, and a government that is held accountable.
The commitment states that they will make America Energy Independent, reduce gas prices, and end our dependence on China. They will copy Ron DeSantis’s plan on bonus awards for police officers and fully fund border enforcement strategies and infrastructure. That’s political talk for a wall.
They will ensure that only women can compete in women’s sports and plan to confront Big Tech. The plan doesn’t mention Section 230 but says they want to offer better data security protections. The commitment also says that they will:
“Conduct rigorous oversight to rein in government abuse of power and corruption, provide real transparency, and require the White House to answer for its incompetence at home and abroad.”
One of those investigations relates to COVID. Senator Rand Paul plans to subpoena Fauci.
Conservative Brief reported:
“If we win in November, if I’m chairman of a committee, if I have subpoena power, we’ll go after every one of [Fauci’s] records,” Paul said. “We’ll have an investigator go through this piece-by-piece because we don’t need this to happen again.”
The Republicans plan to look deeper into the origins of COVID. Seven scientists initially believed that COVID came from a lab leak. They suddenly changed their opinions after a private call from Dr. Francis Collins and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Republicans James Comer, Steve Scalise, and Jim Jordan have called on these scientists.
“We are conducting oversight of the U.S. government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and specifically apparent conflicts of interest, suppression of scientific discourse, and abuse of official government resources. Documents in the custody of the National Institutes of Health reveal how a group of scientists—including you—initially believed COVID-19 to be man-made before reversing course and claiming otherwise following discussions with senior government health officials. This sequence of events suggests a possible coordinated effort to conceal evidence pointing to a lab leak in Wuhan, China, and make your cooperation vital to our investigation. To restore public confidence in the scientific process regarding the origins of COVID-19, it is imperative you provide answers under oath about what, if any, underlying science changed in a matter of days after meeting with top government health officials,”
The GOP bulldog Jim Jordan was on Fox News, showing the money trail of how these doctors changed their minds.
Between January 31 and February 1, COVID came from a lab, and the top scientists in the country said it came from a lab. Then they changed their position and wrote an article that was cited in the letter called “The Lancet.”
Jim Jordan said:
“The interesting thing is. We point this out. We just learned this last week. The two doctors who were most adamant that this thing came from a lab early on; one is Dr. Kristian Anderson. On Jan. 31, 2020, he says this to Dr. Fauci in an email, he says
‘Virus looks engineered. Virus not consistent with evolutionary theory.’ So, he knew it came from a lab, but they changed their position, and a few months later, guess what? They get an 8.9 million dollar grant, both him and Dr. Garry, the guy who said it couldn’t happen naturally.”
The important thing right now is to go out and vote on election day. Do not go to early voting for various reasons that Big Tech overlords don’t want us to discuss.
The Republicans talk a good fight. They are good at it, especially when their backs are against the wall.
Government accountability should also include the Republicans. We know where the Democrats stand; the Republicans, the Liz Cheneys, and Mitch McConnells get in the way. They rather play ball and get along so they can stay on The Hill and enjoy all the perks of being a part of that country club.
They are more afraid of losing their perks than fearful of losing their seat in Government. Hopefully, the fall of Liz Cheney has sent the right message because we are done with all talk and no action, Republicans.
