Last week, the news broke that Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act against the Secret Service and the Department of Justice. The group was looking for more information about Hunter Biden’s gun incident in Delaware several years ago.
This week, Judicial Watch is suing the State of California for efforts to use YouTube to censor the video on Election Integrity. The video and social media platform giant, headquartered in San Bruno, California, determined the video to be Election misinformation.
Judicial Watch is a watchdog group. According to the website, Judicial Watch, is a conservative, non-partisan educational foundation, which promotes transparency, accountability, and integrity in government, politics, and the law. Its goal is the ensure the Government does not abuse its power.
The defendant in this matter is Shirley Weber, the California Secretary of State who was appointed to the position by Governor Gavin Newsom. Ms. Weber, who is from San Diego, has a background in serving on various Election committees throughout the state.
The official complaint, Judicial Watch, Inc. v SHIRLEY WEBER, in her official capacity as Secretary of State of the State of California, was filed in U.S. District Court Central District of California Western Division.
The complaint alleges, that the California Office of Elections Cybersecurity (OEC), which Secretary of State Shirley Weber oversees, caused YouTube to remove the video. The video is titled, “Impeach? Biden Corruption Threatens National Security”.
The video featured Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton talking about the vote-by-mail process nationwide, changes to states’ election procedures, ballot collection or ballot harvesting, and states’ failures to clean up their voter rolls.
In addition to removing the video, Judicial Watch’s account was suspended for a week. The organization is a popular conservative group that reaches its audience through its social media footprint. Getting suspended from YouTube was detrimental to their business.
According to the group’s website, Judicial Watch is America’s largest nonpartisan government watchdog group, and the latest YouTube attack limits its ability to share its educational content with its nearly half-million YouTube subscribers.
Judicial Watch has documents indicating California’s Office of Elections Cybersecurity communicated with YouTube and Google to have Judicial Watch’s video taken down. On September 24, 2020, OEC Social Media Coordinator Akilah Jones emailed Google and YouTube.
Later, on the same day as the email exchange between Ms. Jones and YouTube, Judicial Watch’s video was removed. The organization believes this is a clear violation of their First and Fourteenth Amendment Rights as well as numerous Civil Rights violations under California State Law.
In addition to the communications between Weber’s departments and YouTube and Google, Judicial Watch has obtained more smoking gun evidence. These communications occurred between California State officials and the Biden Campaign.
“Smoking gun documents show California government officials, who were being advised by the Biden campaign PR operation, caused YouTube to censor a key Judicial Watch video just before the 2020 election,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
The Progressive left continues to conspire with Big Tech to censor and eliminate any discussion from Conservatives. The American people are waking up to the threat this poses to their fundamental rights. They need to remember this at the Ballot box in November.
