Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, chastised New York Times writer Adam Liptak on Friday for claiming that overturning Roe v. Wade may jeopardize same-sex marriage.

In a story published last week in the New York Times, Liptak contended that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito Jr. “said a right to abortion cannot be established in the Constitution or derived from its provisions” in a leaked draft judgment that would overturn the historic 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling.

“Using the draft opinion’s basic logic, the same may be argued for contraception, gay intimacy, and same-sex marriage,” he noted.

Cruz branded the opinion “trash” on Friday’s broadcast of “The Verdict with Ted Cruz.” “The New York Times took it a step farther.

The editorial board of The New York Times claimed that if given the opportunity, numerous states in the union would prohibit interracial marriage. What absolute nonsense! “he exclaimed. “You lying piles of junk, you prejudiced, moronic Manhattan leftists!” Cruz screamed. “How do you truly feel?” joked co-host Michael Knowles.

Cruz said, “It, it sort of ticks me off.” “And, by the way, there may be no one on the globe whom these racist lefties of The New York Times loathe more than Justice Clarence Thomas,” he said. “Right,” answered Knowles.

“He is married to a woman of another race. If Clarence Thomas were to do something to end interracial marriage, I believe he would be startled, but the only people who believe interracial marriage would be ended are extreme leftists who have never met a conservative voter “Cruz explained.

“So they think we’re all right, bigoted Klansmen. But here’s the tell on this, when the Democrats and the press are not defending their positions on abortion, it’s because they know their positions on abortion are wildly out of the mainstream, ” Cruz said.

“So whenever you hear them talk about contraception or marriage, it’s because they’re trying to divert the issue,” he said. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas compared abortion-rights demonstrators outside Supreme Court justices’ residences to rioters during the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurgency.

Around 100 people demonstrated in front of Chief Justice John Roberts’ and Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s residences on Saturday. It is unknown if either justice was at home at the time. Protesters later came up outside the residence of Justice Samuel Alito, the author of the newly leaked majority draft opinion from February, which indicated that the court was prepared to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Cruz claimed the demonstrations, which occurred about a week after the Supreme Court leak, were an example of “total hypocrisy” by Democrats and the media during an interview on Fox News on Monday.

“You had tens of thousands of people peacefully demonstrating on January 6, 2021, and yet the corporate media and Democrats smear them with the made-up term ‘insurrectionist,'” he told Sean Hannity of Fox News.

“And yet, even now, even now, as this has the potential to develop and explode further,” Cruz said of the Supreme Court protestors. “These photographs are the newest expression of how extreme, how radical, the Democratic Party is becoming,” he continued.

Alito allegedly abandoned his house for his safety and went to an “undisclosed place,” according to Fox News and Republican legislators. In reaction to the baseless accusation, Cruz tweeted: “Disgraceful. This criminal mob intimidation is being encouraged by the Biden White House.”

Cruz was speaking to Fox News’ Sean Hannity about the protests outside the homes of Justice Samuel Alito, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and Chief Justice John Roberts after a leaked draft opinion suggested the Supreme Court was planning to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 ruling that legalized abortions across the country.

During the debate, Cruz and Hannity both questioned why the Black Lives Matter rallies in the summer of 2020 elicited less indignation than when Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an effort to prevent the election results from being certified in favor of Joe Biden.

Cruz argued that the left’s “selective moral outrage” over the protests outside the justices’ houses is “just politics,” after describing January 6 as a “violent terrorist attack” before apologizing for his words. “It’s total hypocrisy,” Cruz added. “You see it in the corporate media, you see it among Democrats.”

“You had tens of thousands of people peacefully demonstrating on January 6, 2021, and yet the corporate media and Democrats smear them as insurrectionists.” Even today, they are unwilling to call off their thugs since this situation has the potential to develop even further.”

There have been no arrests reported in Maryland or Virginia in connection with abortion rights rallies outside the judge’s residences. Cruz also said that the Obama administration’s failure to adequately condemn the protests is the “latest example of just how extremist, just how radical” the Democratic Party has become.
