When something started to come together against a new Florida legislation that prohibits the teaching of subject matters like sexual identity to school children in grades pre-K through third, Disney may have made a significant error. According to WGN9, Republicans are considering repealing the 1967 Reedy Creek Improvement Act.

According to historical archives from the Reedy Creek Improvement District, the RCID Act was signed into law in May 1967 by then-Florida Governor Claude Kirk, creating two municipalities: Bay Lake and Reedy Creek, which was eventually renamed Lake Buena Vista. The land, which is sandwiched between Orange and Osceola counties, would later become Walt Disney World.

The RCID Charter established a special tax laws jurisdiction designed to cover 25,000 acres of land. It must have been liked to think distant or even inhospitable at the time, even though it is now home to one of America’s biggest amusement parks. To make Disney’s concept a reality, the region needed special permission from the government of Florida essentially operate itself.

“In 1967, the Florida State legislature formed a special taxing district – named the Reedy Creek Improvement District – that would function with the same authority and duty as a county government, in collaboration with Walt Disney World Company,” according to RCID’s website.

Some are considering repealing the Act now that Disney has come out against the new law passed by Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. “I met with colleagues senators for the second time in a week yesterday to propose repealing the 1967 Reedy Creek Improvement Behave, which permits Disney to act as its own government.”

“It seems logical that Disney should be governed by Orange County if they wish to embrace awakened thinking,” Republican State Representative Spencer Roach remarked. Gov. DeSantis, on the other hand, claims that the discussion is not in response to Disney’s stance.

“I would not say that would be retaliatory. The way I view it is there are certain entities that have exerted a lot of influence through corporate means to generate special privileges in the law. I don’t think we should have special privileges in the law at all,” the Florida governor said in a statement. “Some of these things have developed over the years. I had to deal with this last year, when we passed a law last year to protect Floridians from big tech censorship. The idea was to let them be able to sue under the ‘Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act,’ protect political candidates from being de-platformed, stuff that was good. And it’s being litigated in the courts, which we knew it would. But at the 11th hour, the Legislature slips in a provision in that law that said ‘If you operate a theme park, it doesn’t apply to you.’ And that was meant solely to protect Disney.”

To further encourage more discussion of gender diversity, Disney stated earlier this week that the company will remove gendered terms from its park welcomes, such as “boys and girls” and “ladies and gentlemen.” In what seems like a video conference call obtained by one of City Journal’s associates, Christopher Rufo, Disney’s diversity and inclusion manager Vivian Ware was heard discussing the adjustments.

“In that regard, we’ve offered training to all of our cast members.” In the video, Ware says, “Now they know it’s ‘Hello, everyone,’ or ‘Hello, pals.'” Disney’s bold new plan to cater to a new type of audience, most likely connected with radical left-wingers, has not gone unnoticed, and many will vehemently oppose firms that try to persuade or even teach children about gender diversity.

And according to the film obtained in the footage was heard, “ladies and gentlemen” and “boys and girls” would no longer be used in park pleasantries. “With our cast members and our visitors, we aim to create that beautiful moment,” she made clear.

She further added saying, “And we don’t want to make the assumption that simply because someone is presenting as a woman, they don’t want to be a ‘princess.'” “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,” a long-standing welcome at Walt Disney World in Florida, was eliminated from its Magic Kingdom fireworks spectacular last year to encourage diversity. “It was replaced by a welcome that said, ‘Good evening, dreamers of all ages,'” according to Fox News.

“Disney employees walked off the job last week in protest of a perceived lack of company opposition to a Florida bill that prohibits teachers from providing instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third-grade classrooms,” Added to the report This comes after Florida’s “Parental Rights in Education” measure was passed into law by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. In kindergarten through third grade, the measure forbids instructors from teaching about “sexual orientation” or “gender identity” in the classroom.
