Special counsel John Durham asked a federal judge not to dismiss charges against a lawyer who worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Democratic presidential campaign.

This occurred after the lawyer’s attorney, Michael Sussman, asked the court to dismiss them. According to the Epoch Times, Michael Sussmann was representing the Clinton campaign in 2016 when he sent information to an FBI attorney.

His defense argue the data raised national security concerns, but prosecutors say they revealed a covert relationship between a Russian bank and the company of Clinton’s opponent at the time, Donald Trump.

According to authorities, Sussmann was charged with lying to the FBI because he falsely informed the counsel that he was not giving the claims to the FBI on behalf of any client while delivering the material on behalf of the Clinton campaign.

Sussmann’s attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the case in February, arguing their client “did not make any false statements to the FBI,” but even if he did, “the false statement claimed in the indictment is inconsequential as a matter of law.”

“The defendant’s efforts to mislead the FBI in this manner during the height of a Presidential election season plainly could have influenced the FBI’s decision-making in any number of ways,” Durham’s team contended.

If the case goes to trial, Durham will likely argue that the evidence shows the agency might have done something prior to initiating a complete investigation into the subject, including an assessment, and that a judgment should have been deferred until after the 2016 election, if at all.

Just The News’ John Solomon revealed last month who he believes Durham’s next target would be. He emphasized to Fox News that he feels Durham is dealing with two buckets.

Durham uncovered strong evidence that the red lights, the warning indications, date back to August 2016, when Bruce Orr informed the FBI that Christopher Steele was dropping a dossier.

He was hired by Hillary Clinton, and the majority of his material is unconfirmed. This is something John Ratcliffe disclosed a month after the CIA sent a warning to the FBI, claiming Hillary Clinton is attempting to perform a dirty trick on Donald Trump in order to tie him to Russia in order to get out of the e-mail scandal.

Throughout the autumn, they keep a spreadsheet detailing what is correct and incorrect about the Steele dossier. The FBI should never have launched the probe, and I believe that is where John Durham’s investigation is currently focusing.
