Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s business partner, was sentenced to jail for fraud, yet the majority of major news sites ignored the story.
Archer was sentenced “for defrauding a Native American tribal entity and various investment advisory clients of tens of millions of dollars in connection with the tribal entity’s issuance of bonds and subsequent sale of those bonds through fraudulent and deceptive means,” according to a press release issued by the Justice Department on Monday.
Miranda Devine, a New York Post writer and novelist, tweeted, “Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner/best buddy, was recently sentenced in NY District Court to 1 year, 1 day in prison with 1-year parole and $15 million forfeiture for defrauding a Native American tribe.”
Only a presidential pardon will save him.” “Judge Ronnie Abrams ruled that the offense was too serious for Archer’s counsel to seek a noncustodial sentence.” However, the punishment was less than the 30 months sought by prosecutors, putting him on level with co-defendant Bevan Cooney. “Judge Abrams referenced COVID as a basis for the reduced sentence,” she noted.
Divine wrote in a Post post, “It was the day Archer had been trying to avoid for six years, since he was originally accused over the $60 million scam in 2016.”
Judge Abrams overturned his 2018 jury conviction, but her judgment was overruled on appeal, and Archer’s conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court last year.
So Hunter’s flamboyant Yale buddy and former fellow board member of the shady Ukrainian energy business Burisma met his death on Monday. Her punishment was less than half of the 30 months sought by prosecutors, who wanted her term to be equal to that of his co-defendant Bevan Cooney.
Archer stated in court that he felt tremendous guilt for the victims of the crime and lamented the world’s crooked actors and cruel media.
He also stated that at the time of the crime, he was doing too many things at once, including all of the commercial dealings I was involved in as well as the international operations.
Hunter Biden was not a part of Archer’s deception plot. Hunter, on the other hand, stated in a 2019 text message that Archer is part of a fantastic family — not a sideshow, nor abandoned by them even in your saddest days.
Devine said that if that commitment includes a pardon from his father will be seen in the following 60 days before Archer needs to surrender to police.
