The Biden administration’s vaccine requirement for private businesses went into force across the country on Monday, despite the fact that the law is now facing various court battles in the Supreme Court. Businesses with 100 or more employees must now guarantee that all employees have been completely vaccinated either with two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by January 10, 2022, and they must give paid leave to those receiving the vaccination according to The Epoch Times.

Employers bound by the rules must also maintain track of their employees’ vaccination status in a database, present employees with their company’s vaccine policy and procedures, and require unvaccinated employees to wear a mask inside. The law would affect around 84 million US workers, and corporations that fail to comply may be punishable by up to $14,000 per infringement reported the conservative brief.

According to The Epoch Times, The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans granted a worldwide injunction on the mandate’s implementation in November, though a few weeks later, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati reversed the Fifth when the case was assigned to that jurisdiction. So, pending a final determination from the Supreme Court, the Sixth Circuit’s decision stands. Nonetheless, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry stated after oral arguments before the Supreme Court last week that he is optimistic the requirement would be overturned.
