AMAZING: Space Force unveils prototype service uniform called “Guardian Service Dress”

The U.S. Space Force has unveiled its prototype uniform for members of the newest military branch.

A tweet from the Space Force account described the prototype as “a modern, distinctive, professional uniform.” Dubbed the “Guardian Service Dress,” General John Raymond showed off the navy-blue uniform during the Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyber conference on Tuesday. Silver buttons run diagonally along one side of the jacket front, with the wearer’s name pin on the left and a light blue shirt peeking out from underneath.

Lt. Col. Alison Gonzalez, the Space Force deputy chief of strategy, was among two Guardians who modeled the new uniform. Gonzalez told Millitary.com she helped test the uniforms, ensuring they were designed with women in mind.

The Space Force were launched in late 2019 by President Trump, and became the first new branch of the U.S. military since the Air Force was created in 1947. Its motto, “Semper Supra,” means “always above.”

On Twitter, users were quick to note the similarity to those worn in classic sci-fi TV shows like “Battlestar Galactica” and “Star Trek.” Military.com reporter Stephen Losey Tweeted “Getting some Wrath of Khan flashbacks all of a sudden…”
