Former Senator, First Lady, Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took to Twitter on Wednesday to express her contempt over Supreme Court Ruling that favored Texas’ “fetal heartbeat” abortion ban.
“Under the cover of darkness, by choosing to do nothing, the Supreme Court allowed an unconstitutional abortion ban in Texas to go into effect last night. Their decision doesn’t change the fact that reproductive rights are human rights. We’ll fight for them.”
The US Supreme Court recently ruled that the Texas statute is Constitutional, citing the Fourteenth Amendment’s “Equal Protection” clause which requires all states to uniformly enforce laws established to protect citizens therein.
To which Mrs.Clinton expressed her concerns for “reproductive rights that are human rights.”
Similar sentiments were also expressed recently by Massachusetts Democrat Senator, Elizabeth Warren who went as far as saying “Abortion is a human right” and suggested healthcare for abortion seekers despite the age of the fetus.
Many pro-life Twitter users trolled Hillary’s tweet referring to her husband and former president Bill Clinton who was impeached for having an extramarital affair in the Oval Office with an intern.
This Texas ruling has many pro-choice activists like Clinton, Warren, and many other powerful politicians concerned as the popular Roe V. Wade ruling of 1973 is being directly challenged later this year in the Supreme Court that now has a conservative majority.
What do you make of Hillary Clinton outraging over this ruling? And do you think Roe V. Wade will be overturned this year?
