On Wednesday, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis responded to the Biden administration’s attack on his leadership in Florida.
This came after Gov. Desantis announced that Florida will not be following new guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about indoor masking, suggesting new lockdowns and encouraging virtual schooling.
“Joe Biden suggests that if you don’t do lockdown policies, then you should ‘get out of the way,'” Gov.Desantis said. “But let me tell you this: If you’re coming after the rights of parents in Florida, I’m standing in your way. I’m not going to let you get away with it.”
Referring to his recent executive order prohibiting public schools from mandating masks for children during in-person classes. The governor added, “In Florida, the parents are going to be the ones in charge of that decision.”
The governor then called out Biden for his failed border policies that are causing historic illegal immigration crises on the southern border.
“Why don’t you do your job, why don’t you get this border secure, and until you do that, I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you.”
After this press conference, a reporter asked President Biden to respond to Gov. Desantis’ ‘I am Standing in Your Way’ comment on which Biden took a jab at the governor by responding with “Governor who?”
Gov. Desantis responded to this with another hilarious roast about Biden’s visible dementia traits: “I guess I’m not surprised that Biden doesn’t remember me, I guess the question is, what else has he forgotten? Biden’s forgotten our crisis at the southern border, I can tell you that.”
