18-Year-Old Vandalized His Own Car With the N-word, KKK, Swastikas, and Other Things – Faces 7 Years in Prison
In New York last month a car was found to have been vandalized with a slew of racial slurs and hateful rhetoric. The car was plastered with the N-word, KKK, swastikas, and messages supporting President Trump. Police are now saying that they highly suspect it was the owner of the car who did it himself.
John Flynn is the Erie County District Attorney and last week he said that Clifton Eutsey, 18, spray-painted his own car. On Tuesday, he was accused in Buffalo City Court of vandalizing his own car. He turned himself in this morning and virtually appeared for his arraignment. Now, he is facing multiple charges: third-degree insurance fraud, a felony; falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor; offering a false instrument for filing, a misdemeanor; and falsifying business records, a misdemeanor.
The windshield of the car was also smashed in and apparently, there was derogatory language toward homosexuals painted on the car. Police say that even sugar was poured into the gas tank. The report of vandalism was initially made on October 15 by a neighbor.
The attorney for Eutsey has entered into a plea deal for his young client of not guilty. Due to bail reform, the judge was not allowed to set bail for Eutsey. After the initial report of the vandalism broke, a local collision repair shop offered to fix the vehicle, but it remains in police custody.
A felony hearing is scheduled for January 11 and Eutsey has been released on his own recognizance. If he is convicted of all charges he could face seven years in prison.
