Bad News for Biden: Charlamagne tha God Explains why Black People are Voting for Trump
Lenard Larry McKelvey, known as Charlamagne tha God, explained why black voters are drawn to Trump and not to Biden. In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, McKelvey was asked why “prominent black men” are supporting and working with President Trump. He explained that that is happening because Trump is putting in the work with black people. He is not only talking to them, but actually listening and hearing their thoughts and ideas. He said that black voters want to be heard and many are feeling heard by President Trump and not from Joe Biden.
He said, “When it comes to the black people you see showing support for Trump, I just think, you know, it’s because Trump is actually talking to young black male voters. He is directing ads toward them. They are a group that never get courted. I mean, black people don’t get courted either as a whole. But that old Democratic regime speaks to old black men. I think everyone else in the black community and black families, they are supposed to fall in line. They know black women are going to show up regardless.”
McKelvey also mentioned Ice Cube and 50 Cent. Ice Cube has decided to partner with the Trump campaign so he can promote his socio-economic plan to help black Americans called “Contract with Black America”. Ice Cube said that he met with both the Biden and Trump campaigns, but it was only Trump who implemented the changes he suggested to them. Ice Cube said that Biden told them they would consider his plan, but not until after the election.
Recently, 50 Cent announced on Instagram that he would be voting for Trump because of Biden’s proposed tax plan. He said he doesn’t necessarily like Trump but paying outrageous taxes, like 62%, under Biden is crazy.
McKelvey also said, “Like I said, he speaks to older black men, and he thinks the rest of us all speak the same language. So, Trump is targeting young black males from marketing. It works.” He said that he isn’t voting for Trump of Biden, but that he is voting for Kamala Harris. “Absolutely. I mean, when we were pushing for Joe Biden to pick a black woman as his VP, Senator Harris was who I had in mind. And I’m voting for Kamala Harris, I’ll tell you that in a heartbeat. I’m not necessarily voting for Joe Biden.”
