HUGE NEWS: Trump Announces a Peace Deal Between Sudan and Israel

On Twitter President Trump announced another historic peace deal between Sudan and Israel. This is the third peace deal made with Israel following the other two made by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. In the tweet he released a joint statement from the United States, the Republic of Sudan, and the State of Israel. The statement starts by saying that President Trump met with Abdel Fattah al-Burhan (Sudanese Chairman of the Sovereignty Council) Abdalla Hamdok (Sudanese Prime Minister), and Benhamin Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister) to discuss the progress Sudan has made toward democracy and creating opportunities to bring peace to the region.

The leaders have agreed to normalize the relations between the two countries and to move forward to end the hostility toward each other. They will work on economic and trade relations with first focusing on agriculture. In the coming weeks the leaders will meet discuss and make agreements on areas such as “agriculture technology, aviation, migration issues, and other areas” to benefit the people of each country.

A portion of the statement reads:

“After decades of living under a brutal dictatorship, the people of Sudan are finally taking charge. The Sudanese traditional government has demonstrated its courage and commitment to combating terrorism, building its democratic institutions, and improving its relations with its neighbors. In light of this historic progress, and following President Trump’s decision to remove Sudan from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list, the United states ad Israel agree to partner with Sudan in its new start an ensure that is is fully integrated into the international community. The United States will take steps to restore Sudan’s sovereign immunity and to engage its international partners to reduce Sudan’s debt burdens, including advancing discussions on debt forgiveness consistent with the Highly Indebted Poor Countries Initiative. The United States and Israel also committed to working with their partners to support he people of Sudan in strengthening their democracy, improving food security, countering terrorism and extremism, and tapping into their economic potential.”

They will work together to create peace and build a better future for their people. The progress and agreements that are set to take place will not only benefit everyone in their country but the people in neighboring countries as well. The statement concludes stating this is a “bold and visionary approach” from the leaders involved. It also said that Prime Minister Netanyahu, Chairman al-Burham, and Prime Minister Handok thank President Trump for making this deal possible and praised him for his “pragmatic and unique approach to ending old conflicts and bulding a future of peace and opportunity for all the people of the region.”

In addition to this third historic peace deal, Breaking 911 tweeted that the President has announced at least five other countries will follow suit and contract peace deals with Israel. Saudi Arabia is possibly one of them and there will be a signing event at the White House.
