Protesters held a “wake up Lindsey Graham” outside the Senator’s home early Monday morning. The demonstration came after Senator Graham said that he would vote to confirm a SCOTUS nominee from President Trump and the protesters gathered to make their disdain known. The activists assembled at 6 am and banged on pots and pans, yelled, used strobe lights, and audio recordings. A spokesman for the Senator said he wasn’t home.
One activist yelled into a megaphone, “Anyone who is seeing this can do the same thing to your representative, can do the same thing learning about how to hold them accountable. Make sure they know if they do some evil f-ing s-t, they know there will be consequences for it.”
Democrats are calling Senator Graham and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hypocrites because in 2016 they denied Barack Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court in his final year following the death of Justice Scalia.
After about an hour of the loud demonstration protesters faced possibilities of arrest and then marched to the Supreme Court building, Ford Fischer, a journalist for News2Share, filmed the protests.
